An Immersive Exploration of Neuroscience
ARTECHOUSE offers visitors and artists the world’s most technologically advanced art platform. Utilizing the Barco-powered, 16K resolution, 150-megapixel laser projection technology, ARTECHOUSE is the first cultural institution to integrate the largest seamless megapixel count, bringing every pixel alive in the broadest color spectrum. The installation also utilizes L-ISA Immersive Hyperreal Sound technology with 32 separate channels that enable artists to create and deliver new multidimensional sound experiences for live and recorded productions. The recent Life of a Neuron exhibit allows visitors to experience the last 50 years of neuroscience research crafted in L-ISA technology.
“Life of a Neuron takes us through a journey of human growth and the mind. And it allows us to immerse ourselves in memory and those experiences. Using sound to trigger a memory in an immersive environment, such as L-ISA, allows the audience to really experience both their own past and the story that’s being told in front of them,” says Zachory Ivans, Audio Engineer.
Mehmet Unal, a composer, sound artist, and software developer from Istanbul, talks about using an innovative tool like L-ISA for Life of a Neuron: “This project was really special for me. Because traditional composers use traditional instruments like a trumpet, violin, or percussion to compose music, but we are in a new era now. You know? And that means electronic music composers or experimental composers who, like me, compose the sound themselves. This is a cinematic experience, so we use a lot of sound design objects and sound design tracks for this project, and because of that, we have 400 different tracks for telling the story with sound. One of the major advantages of L-ISA is it’s object-based mixing where you are panning things in real space, and you have more resolution.”
Sandro, Founder of ARTECHOUSE, notes how using L-ISA has dynamically changed the experience for visitors at ARTECHOUSE, and why artistic visionaries should seek it out: “L-ISA technology really elevates the experience of the sound. For innovative artists of the 21st century, it is most important to use the latest tools like this to be able to connect with the audience and give them a chance to experience something they have never experienced before.”
